The entire FRONT DESK series has been about getting the next generation (esp immigrant children) to know their worth. That’s a very essential lesson…but not one we easily internalize, so it’s taken us 5 books to get here! But I’m SO incredibly proud of TOP STORY—coming out 9/5!!
I Hope, by @ltldrum Monique Gray Smith, sparked beautiful conversation about our hopes for family, friends & ourselves. This summer, we hope you laugh w/ loved ones, spend time outside, read for pleasure & knowledge, & so much more. Happy summer @dtla37@deltasd37@RILightning
We're looking forward to curing the garlic, seed saving kale and arugula pods, and picking peas.
So many positive, hands on experiences in the garden. Thank you Jenna and Megan for a great day. Families, ask your students!!!!! @dtla37 check out In the Garden by Emma Giuliani
Last sessions this with @theclassroomgardener @vvictorygardens program. Garlic triplets harvested, spicy scapes tasted, turnips nibbled, radishes pulled, plants and bugs identified!!! A little bit of rain even showed up! @deltasd37@RILightning
Thank you to the clever and kind student (and their family) who decided to hide tiny ducks around the library. First class of the day will seek & find during their exchange, then will hide for the next class. A quiet way to build connections in the LLC ❤️ @dtla37@RILightning
@tracyk2019 Always grateful that @deltasd37@dtla37 TL's had the opportunity to learn from your genrification process and thematic information sections. It gave us the push we needed to highlight important topics and promote inclusivity in our collection.

This week we shared our seeds by donation to our community. Funds raised will be used to continue our garden outdoor adventures (healthy, amended soil to start growing season is essential) Div. 2 & 8 👍Thanks to @classgardener for helping us seed save! @RILightning@deltasd37
Another great book by the amazing @kellyyanghk! I really liked the nod to other #kidlit books through out the story. And the references to @TheSimpsons are funny. Don’t miss this book! #mustread2023
An example of the kinds of things many Indigenous folks face. If changing racist attitudes and behaviours of people and businesses like this is important, do something more than just get angry. Add your voice to letting them know that it's not ok, nor are shallow apologies.
Welcome Back @classgardener Program for our spring sessions! Amending the soil w/ Megan & Tomas. Stdnts learned about soil health & how to prep it for spring planting, what plants need to grow, how to make paper pots for seed starting & more @RILightning@deltasd37#getoutside
