@MrsPete23 I taught my children to give thank you cards, but also not to expect them. I think it’s nice when it happens, but I have seen some adults get really cranky about lack of thank you cards and it makes it seem that their gift giving is transactional.

@MrsPete23 The last day before a holiday is very busy and I try to get them written, but there often just isn’t time so it has to wait until I get back in Jan. Verbal thanks are given immediately if I am handed a gift. I do think they are less often done these days though.
