The @jkenney pandemic management strategy is to accept double digit death counts & allow collapse of the healthcare system.
Let it run its course. Numb yourself to sickness & death.
Speak up, Alberta. Our outrage must be heard. Push for action. Donโt relent now.
Act, Premier.
@artsydoe @forestine_ I was literally speaking to my therapist last week about this exact same thing. It's like a clogged drain -- I keep coming up with ideas but they get frustratingly stuck and then I just eat candy and stare at a wall, feeling bad that I can't act on anything.
BRAINS! Ugh!
The loneliness was like nothing I ever felt. It was horrible to be in bed, terrified that I could make the people I love sick. I stayed away from everyone to keep them safe.
Vaccines weren't a thing yet in December 2020. It could have been so much worse.
The trauma is real.
I didn't necessarily come back to Twitter to only talk about COVID but shit, this thread hits close.
14 days alone in the bedroom, weak, unable to breathe, in pain, while my husband slept on the couch OVER CHRISTMAS was horrible.
He never caught it (thank god) but fuck. Ugh.
๐งต๐งตSo today is my 11th day since testing positive for COVID-19. And let me tell you -- it was HELL. I am fully vaccinated and it knocked me on my ass. I had chills, a scary high fever, night sweats, trouble breathing, extreme exhaustion, and the terrible cough.
I had Covid-19 and I still got vaccinated because this virus doesn't give a shit if you've already had it.
Protect yourself, your family, your community and get vaxxed.
@UbakaOgbogu I contracted COVID in December 2020, suffered immensely with long haul symptoms for more than 5 months. The minute I was eligible for a vaccine, my Alberta doctor told me I needed it. No ifs. No ands. No buts.
@paulbrandt is fuelling vaccine doubts. He should know better.
So if you're one of those folks who starts ranting about restrictions, about vaccines, about the whole thing being a conspiracy, I am walking away from you full-stop.
Like turn on my heels, head in the opposite direction, and willfully ignore your bullshit.
I am not engaging.
I had COVID.
It messed me up for 6 months and continues to impact me daily because my sense of taste/smell can no longer be trusted.
The minute I was eligible for a vaccine, I got my shot because under no circumstances do I ever want to go through having COVID again.
I am so tired.
I am exhausted.
My cup of empathy towards folks who continue to doubt the existence of COVID, who harass frontline staff, who don't believe they would ever been impacted by this virus, IS EMPTY.
I am done.
I have no more fucks to give.
