@carlchery @ladidaix Perhaps, but a lot of OG’s probably don’t think he has enough material in his catalog to be viewed beyond that take. Their take on his discography is likely set in stone, and I don’t think his recent releases help matters. It’s ok, he has his millions.

@DapperDomo Mos Def covers a wide range of topics in music that aren’t just limited to conscious rap.

+ when you examine hip-hop origins it’s odd to lambast rappers for being conscious.

A lot of genres beyond rap offer social commentary, idk why people are always attacking rappers
