@unormal My biggest argument is that even with perfect knowledge people will doubt we have perfect knowledge; no amount of rationale can quiet a mind disturbed by the knowledge that it's ensnared. Prescience is a prison for those with desires.
One of those games that sticks with you, and perfectly thematically hits. A historic fiction that actually feels like a tapestry of ages. Every part of this story feels extremely tightly designed and paid attention to. A masterwork in presentation, really.
I'm merely two hours in but already feel like there's a lot to this game. Aesthetically and worldbuilding-wise, the morrowind comparison holds up, but the gameplay is definitely doing its own thing.
The mythos in particular is intriguing... what are those hyperatheists doing....

The glowing user reviews don't lie - Path Of Achra is a VERY interesting old-meets-new roguelike.
Old in that it's turn-based, grid-based, tactics and resource management above all. New in that it's fast, easy to pick up, has a branching world map and is all about broken builds.
Retro #Pixelart RPG #Skald is launching May 30th and we're giving you a sneak peak into pricing and the content of the Deluxe Edition! Check out this week's devlog!

@vagabondfujo In more interesting creative hands, this'd be a neat dig at eternally rosetinted nostalgia for america's better days and technological/cultural rot that follows that thinking, but nah
What do I mean by this? I mean that the player is always acting upon the environment, but rarely is the environment acting upon the player, especially as the game shifts away from survival towards technological progression.
The reason Survival games became drab and uninteresting is because they were being mimicked without understanding the underlying appeal, and so they became treadmills of wilderness-conquering instead of an interesting cohabitation with a dynamic environment.
