How we celebrate our illness is something to look closely at in any country. Ghosts, or addictions -- or the way we see big pharma as both necessary mother and a capitalistic form of disbursement -- we have our local pharmacist and we have our medicine. I've noticed trendy pieces while online shopping that pull hot pink from the critical requirement of storing pills. Our contemporary needs sync better when we fetishize them.
Rereleasing Issue Four: Surrealism Tomorrow, ( digitally conceptualized in tandem with our Spring ‘26 client and partner, @PrattInstitute and Dr. Luka Lucic)
ORLANDO, FL PROMPT:
Tomorrowland, the Park, in conversation with what these young artists were up against in their exploitation of a concrete future. I only write about Disney to play devil’s advocate to what our brilliant young people are doing for the subjective purposes of imagining our species’ survival.
Mary B:
It’s the future through the past visionary’s eyes that worries me. The upkeep of the park was, in 2012, shoddily done, and the metal was fading, each childish fingerprint a dulling agent, mirroring a 50’s bravado that in our latest century had lost its imagination entirely, softening into a Jetson’s tin-soup-can-depressive-episode. It lasts only thirty minutes. You experience it with your parents, and they talk about your grandparents and an inaccessible timeliness of a postwar high you know from text in a book. As a 2025 art concept, “Tomorrow” reiterates humanity’s reliance on its early promise of continuity. Whether generalized or honored through woven fibers, the cultural heritage of keeping hope for better evolutions is tested with the specialized skill of nine student artists whose backgrounds and vocations prove that the intellectual liveliness at Pratt takes trophies home every time.

Feeling this. And there’s some kind of sci-fi glass between you and the rest of the world. I think we accidentally build those ourselves. I’ve repeated days behind my glass wall for nearly 4 years. I touch it to lay a hand next to a visitor’s but there’s no touch like skin. I don’t have advice but I do have empathy. What does it take to be safe in this age?

Hi!
I’m founder/EiC @ LIBRE, a flash enthusiast, and a mental health narratives “fighter pilot”. Writing a/b bankers boxes for the state of Mississippi in early 19th century train station. Liberal person. Working on a screenplay. Here to help. “I’m listening.”
On here to post the very quick announcement for a potential reopening / rebranding. This won’t happen until later this year and I plan to spend months working with others behind the fucking scenes on searching for a better genesis story. This is a rebirth but a slow one.
