@here4tehbeer @gtconway3d I was also under the impression that they need citizenship before they can vote. Also, it would benefit the US to make it easier for asylum seekers to get legal residency, so they can legally work, and pay taxes.
@suckafree308@fasc1nate I also see nothing wrong with this provided the choice is being made by someone of sound mind, without coercion. There are many terminal degenerative illnesses where this is a preferable option.
@RpsAgainstTrump So this is what they are going to waste their time on, not work on the budget or any other issue their constituents are interested in.
@Sleempapi2 @Morbidful There are other terminal medical conditions where the pain of treatment outweighs any enjoyment you might have. Or are degenerative where you might choose to end your life or stop treatment on your own terms while you are of sound mind.
@Sleempapi2 @Morbidful Assisted suicide or refusing medical intervention is not cowardly. There are terminal illnesses that take your mind before your body (Alzheimer’s) where you might choose death with dignity instead of lingering in a nursing home bankrupting your loved ones.
@gunsnrosesgirl3 But do you know why that works? Memorizing tricks or algorithms that solve some types of problems without knowing how they work or even how to know if your solution is reasonable is useless.
@libsoftiktok Yes, but deliberately mis-gendering someone is rude and disrespectful. If you don’t know someone’s prefered pronouns, introduce yourself with your pronouns, and they will likely do the same. Or just ask. If someone tells you their pronouns, use them.
@EdKrassen Inclusive language like (non gendered pronouns) is intended to include. The only reason to be offended or angered by this is if you wish to exclude or ignore non-binary individuals. That is the bigger problem.
@PNWShan@RealCandaceO Are you certain of this? We just saw one sample question that the OP didn’t agree with. Is it possible that there could have others that she did agree with? The EC was to engage in community activism. Not a directive to be on one side or the other. Sounds like she has an agenda.
@RealCandaceO Did your instructor tell you which side of the issue you needed to support to earn extra credit, or did you just assume that it had to be the pro social justice side? 2 of 2
@RealCandaceO Something to consider, as an attorney, you do not always get to choose the cases you defend. It is excellent practice to be able to argue both sides of a case. Also, being politically active in your community is also great practice for an attorney. 1 of 2
@ThePaulCampbell of course I will.
May I please get 2 followers to copy and re-post this tweet? I'm trying to demonstrate that someone is always listening.
