An impractical research community exploring gustatory experiences, designs, and technologies. Headed by Chief Gustographers @drt3ch, @justaturbo, @decolonisator
Six years ago today, I submitted my #philosophy dissertation. It’s not the favorite thing I’ve written. Not by far. A word of advice to all the grad students tempted by perfectionism in their dissertations: just get the job done! ✅
We will not accept these job cuts. We will not let them happen. What to do:
- Vote YES in the e-ballot for all forms of industrial action (see email)
- Attend the branch meeting tomorrow (Wed 29th) at 12.30
- Come to regular action committees to build the fightback. 4/4
I popped down to Soho today.
An already notoriously difficult area (for its lack of dropped kerbs) has been made trickier with outdoor seating blocking pavements.
I support the hospitality sector and understand the need for outdoor seats, but please leave room for wheelies!
“The data always travels, creating new possibilities for judging and predicting human lives. We might call it control creep: data-driven technologies tend to be pitched for a particular context and purpose, but quickly expand into new forms of control” https://t.co/nF1olGj0bb
Follow me to support this QTPoC STS/HCI scholar/activist & overall badass. I make academia, research & HCI a more inclusive space.
I post stuff about neurodiv/, decoloni/, Method, (my) queer art & poetry & PhD & research. I call out toxic tech+.
Available for hire and collab.
@profdavidharvey I may give it a go, but I have a question:
Do what degree do you think "difficult writing" is a manner that disenfranchises neurodiverse and foreign-(non-western) language communities?
I am the proud (!) curator of @DragonflyMH's new monthly member's newsletter column of #CreativeDispatches. Follow
@DragonflyMH and maybe send us your submissions - and see you in a month (at the latest)!

@philosophybites 'Kierkegaard’s Cupboard' should be the title of your quirky little book about Kierkegaard. You know, an Alain de Bottom type thing, with recipes, hair-styling tips, and superficial applications of his ideas to modern problems.
Kierkegaard’s cupboard. He had it made after he had rejected Regine Olsen because she then said she would live in a cupboard and thank him for it. So it has no shelves. He stored mementoes of her and books inspired by her there...Sad and a little weird.
