The Friends of the Liesbeek is a NPO that is dedicated to restoring the river's ecology, enhancing its recreational utility & creating an awareness of the river for the benefit of current & future generations concerned with ecological restoration & social upliftment. @FNF_Africa
Historically, they were a vital water source & they provided fertile floodplains, transport corridors etc. The resulting urbanisation has meant that many of our rivers have been transformed beyond recognition, & are no longer able to provide those initial benefits.
