There must be someone available that is better than the Phillies relievers who keep imploding every time they’re on the mound. Mattingly basically concedes the game when he’s stuck pitching these guys.
At his best, I thought the Phillies always overrated Aaron Nola. Now they give him too much rope because they want to be respectful. It’s their own fault for acting like an OK pitcher is a legend.
To anyone lamenting who the Sixers and other teams in the back half of the NBA Draft didn’t take… most of the players we’re talking about will be out of the league within 3 years and you’re going to be hard pressed to identify their names as someone who once played in the NBA.
@WordOnTheBirds The grain of salt is that T.J. Houshmandzadeh has never been right about anything. Have you ever heard him? He barely knows the names of players, so I’m not sure anyone should be paying attention to his opinions on anything besides the basics of playing wide receiver in the NFL.
The Phillies might help someone set the all-time record for single game strikeouts. Seriously, it’s embarrassing how lost they collectively get at the plate.
@Eagles If this doesn’t get you pumped up as an Eagles fan, I don’t know what will. Jakorian Bennett just lost his number. Man, Howie really is amazing.
The Phillies just consistently conceding a loss when they get to their fifth starter seems like a bad idea, especially when their third and fourth starters aren’t exactly sure things. But I’m not as smart as Dave Dombrowski.
Man, the Phillies really like seeing 5 zeros in a row. Every day, 1st through 5th innings, zeros. It must have some special meaning that only the guys in the dugout know. Someone should buy Stubbs enough drinks to get him to tell.
