On Remembrance Sunday our staff took part in remembrance events in our local area. Today we will pause at 11am to remember the sacrifices of the whole armed forces community - serving personnel, reservists, veterans and families, who give so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Today is Armed Forces Day 2025! 💂🏼‍♀️

There are approximately 180,780 members in the Armed Forces, from regulars to reservists, and over 2 million veterans. In addition to this, the community includes forces families, cadets and support organisations. (1/3)

At LFAS, we continue to pledge our support to the whole Armed Forces community with training, discounts and being ‘forces friendly’ in how we work. (2/3)

Cadets across the UK take part in training, exercises, ranges and parades. We support cadets and adult volunteers by offering course discounts and getting involved through providing training and equipment to local cadet units, to support their training and development. (3/3)

On this day of Armed Forces Week, we are recognising cadets, as a wider part of the Armed Forces community.

As of April 2024, there were approximately 139,600 cadets in the UK, within: @SeaCadetsUK, VCC, CCF, @ArmyCadetsUK and @aircadets.

Alongside cadets, there were 48,340 cadet force adult volunteers across the MOD sponsored cadet forces. Included in this statistic are 2 of our key staff, who currently volunteer as cadet force instructors. (2/3)

Today marks Reserves Day. In January 2025, 32,026 individuals were serving in the reserves across the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army, and Royal Air Force. This takes dedicated time and commitment towards training and deployments, alongside their regular day jobs. (1/3)
