I was pleased to host a delegation from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), led by its President, Senior Counsel Charles Kanjama, during a courtesy call to my office.

Our discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the County Government of Machakos and the Law Society of Kenya in advancing the rule of law, promoting good governance, and enhancing access to justice.

I remain committed to building strong partnerships that improve service delivery and positively impact the lives of the people of Machakos.

The county government of Machakos has allocated 10 acres of land for the proposed Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Masii Campus and approved the temporary use of the existing Masii Level 3 facility as the development of the new campus progresses.

This transformative investment will strengthen medical training in our county while creating more opportunities for our young people to pursue careers in healthcare closer to home.

The proposed campus will be supported by the newly completed Masii Level 4 Hospital and other surrounding private health facilities, providing learners with practical clinical training opportunities.

Honored to have joined Habitat for Humanity Kenya in celebrating its Golden Jubilee and the launch of the "Let's Open the Door" Campaign, marking 50 years of transforming lives through decent housing and sustainable community development.

Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Kenya has transformed lives in Matungulu, Masinga and Mavoko through decent housing, improved sanitation and access to clean water. In Masinga, the partnership has delivered three new boreholes, rehabilitated two others, constructed approximately 16 kilometres of water reticulation pipeline, and improved water and sanitation services for more than 3,000 households, benefiting over 14,000 residents.

The launch of the 10,000 Jigger-Free Homes and Women Building Resilient Manyattas initiatives reflects our shared commitment to building healthier, more resilient communities and expanding opportunities for vulnerable families.

Congratulations to Habitat for Humanity Kenya on its Golden Jubilee. Together, we will open the door to dignity,hope and opportunities for our people.

To restore the livelihoods of the 226 traders whose businesses were affected by the fire that razed the Machakos Mitumba Market, I have issued financial support cheques to help them rebuild their businesses and resume their economic activities. I have also presented bursary cheques to 69 students whose parents' and guardians' businesses were affected by the fire, ensuring their education continues uninterrupted despite the challenges faced by their families.

As an administration, we are going to build a new Machakos Mitumba Market with modern facilities that will provide a safer, more organized, and conducive trading environment. We will continue working closely with the traders to ensure the new market meets their needs, supports the growth of their businesses, and safeguards their livelihoods.

The Constitution is very clear on the functions devolved to county governments and those that remain the responsibility of the national government. Let every leader respect these constitutional roles and deliver the mandate entrusted to them.

As the county government of Machakos, we will continue to discharge our constitutional mandate by investing in quality healthcare, reliable water supply, better roads, agriculture, and other devolved functions that directly improve the lives of our people under the Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni development agenda.

This morning, I was served with a court order suspending the implementation of my decision to dismiss Hon. Catherine Mutanu as the CECM for Finance.

As a law-abiding citizen, I respect the rule of law and will fully comply with the court order as the matter proceeds through the judicial process.

I have therefore directed Hon. Catherine Mutanu to resume her duties as CECM for Finance with immediate effect pending the hearing and determination of the case.

I wish Hon. Catherine Mutanu all the best as she discharges her duties.

Water is a fundamental pillar of sustainable development, supporting healthy communities, agricultural productivity, and economic growth.

The Kwa Metho Weir, one of the seven weirs we have constructed along the Maindaindu River in the Uamani sub-location, is providing a reliable water supply to over 2,000 households. The project is improving access to clean water for domestic use, enhancing crop and livestock production, and improving livelihoods while advancing our vision of Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni.

I sincerely thank APA Insurance, Utooni Developers, and SCIFORD for partnering with us in delivering this transformative project. Your partnership and support continue to play a vital role in delivering sustainable water solutions and improving the lives of our people.

The people of Matungulu East Ward will no longer have to travel long distances to access quality healthcare services. The upgraded Matungulu Health Centre, with its modern male and female wards, kitchen, laundry unit, and physiotherapy unit, is bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people while improving the quality of care, patient comfort, and treatment outcomes.

We have also ensured the facility is well stocked with adequate medicines and essential medical supplies to support efficient service delivery. As an administration, we remain committed to investing in quality healthcare infrastructure and equipping our health facilities to guarantee accessible, affordable, and reliable healthcare for all residents.

Inspected the ongoing grading and murraming of the Donyo–Mithini Road in Kiboko Sub-Location, a key infrastructure project that will enhance connectivity and improve mobility for residents.

The project will ease the movement of people and goods, improve access to essential services, and support local trade and agricultural activities, contributing to the area's socio-economic development.

Inspected the ongoing construction of the Maindaindu Box Culvert Drift along the Kayatta–Kwa Mwaura Road in Matungulu North Ward.

Once completed, this key infrastructure project will provide safe and reliable passage across all seasons, enhance connectivity, facilitate the movement of people, goods, and services, improve access to schools, health facilities, and markets, boost local trade and agricultural activities, and open up the area for greater economic growth and development.
