You want to know why you shouldn’t ever reach out or reply to people that have deeply hurt/betrayed/humiliated/devastated you? I’ll tell you why. Because I remember the times that I’d "give in" and reach out/respond then feel flooded with shame, anger and disgust at myself. After a couple of times, I realized something. By even communicating with him, despite what we actually talked about, I was unknowingly conveying a loud and clear message. "I am okay with everything that happened. I am okay with it and I still want to talk to you." Realizing the severity of that made me sick and helped me realize that any communication, no matter how small or innocent I thought it was, was actually saying “Don't worry, you're not a bad person! How bad can you be if I’m still talking to you? Despite the horrible shit that you put me through, despite the cruel ways that you mishandled me, I'll be here for you always. I'm spineless with low self-esteem. I'll forgive anything.” Yeah. Don’t talk to them.
Healing tip: You do not have to understand something to be able to accept it. Hear me out. Maybe you'll never wrap your head around something incredibly hurtful, devastating or cruel that someone did or said to you. You will never fully understand it because you simply don't operate that way. You’re incapable of that behavior, so OF COURSE it doesn’t make sense to you. Why would it? How
could it? Being unable to understand it doesn't mean that you need to sit around trying to figure it out or investigate their reasoning. Fuck their reasoning.
There are things in life that are going to be mysteries that you DO NOT need to solve. Accept that yes, it was fucked up and it hurt you, but also accept that you owe it to yourself to move on. Their reasons have everything to do with the type of person that THEY are, and nothing to do with you.
Dear Lord,
Today, remind me that some things won’t go as I planned, but I pray for the strength of mind to keep going. Create in me a clean heart. Help me to be ready on a spiritual level for the bigger challenges and greater rewards. Drain me of all anxiety and stress, and fill me with an overflow of Your peace. In Jesus' name. Amen🙏🏾
that "fed up" stage hits so different. you gain the strength & fight to want better, to want more. the thought of settling disgusts you & you're ready for the life you deserve. it's really everything
Becoming the woman God created you to be will cost you your old life, comfort zone, friends, relationships, being liked + understood. Become her anyway. It will make sense later. 🤍
