I finally completed my $0 to $1000 challenge.
After earning 500,000 impressions and 60 yaps, here’s everything I learned.
1) Effort doesn’t translate to success, your circle of connections do
I started pretty much from ground 0 in January due to not posting for many months. No impressions, no engagements. I tried everything. AI threads, comment spamming, GM posts, news reports.
It took me a while to realize that your network is more important than your efforts. I saw accounts getting more yaps than me with less impressions or engagements. I was confused too.
Looking back, it really isn’t that complicated. If the quality of your content is high and the people who engage with you are smart followers, you’re more likely to earn more InfoFi rewards and yaps.
When I stopped focusing on quantity (throwing out tons of threads) compared to quality (less threads but better content), I started earning my first yaps.
Before the Kaito Season 1 airdrop happened, I managed to earn 8 yaps thanks to @AnonVee_, @waleswoosh, and @skylinee (who all actively engage with their followers no matter their account size).
2) Being early is always better than chasing a trend
Most of the time for smaller to mid sized accounts, being late to a “train” is a headache.
Catching up on a mindshare leaderboard is (for the most part) more efficient for larger KOL accounts who have the following and engagements to do so.
Personally, I’d suggest studying Zh0u (Mitosis creator) and Usopp (Magic Newton creator).
3) Always keep your notifications on
Succinct has a limit of 25,000 users on their testnet. I was lucky to get in from stage 1 just because I had my notifications on.
Being early with your notifications on could mean earlier access and more rewards down the road.
Let’s take a look at Anoma. The users right now who are on their testnet are either their top yappers, or they are individuals who have kept their notifications on and instantly copy pasted or deciphered their codes.
Being first means being able to make content faster. Those who are already on the Anoma testnet can create guides (which other people would read once they gain access), and also give out codes which could boost mindshare because it's a massive competition to obtain them right now.
My Next Steps
The 6 main projects I’m looking at ranked from early to more competition are as follows:
- Multipli
- Boundless
- Katana
- Infinex
- Sei
- Humanity Protocol
Why Multipli?
So far, it is the 3rd least talked about Pre-TGE project. Although many people know about their DeFi app, their yapper incentives have consistently been pretty good. 10k USDC for months in a row to the top 50 (this is how I got my first $100+ mindshare win), and now their team has come out saying there will be more upgraded rewards and that everyone is still early.
Again, it's always good to be early. If it means talking about a project that hasn't launched its rewards campaign yet, then maybe it's time to pivot.
Why Katana?
I personally missed out on their initial deposit campaign and am bummed out about that, but Katana’s APY and product as well as their Yapper rewards are very strong.
The top 25 yappers are earning 20,000 vbUSDC per month directly deposited into yearnfi for even more yields. So, by yapping about Katana, not only are you getting exposure to USDC value rewards, you’re interacting with the Katana app itself.
You might think that Katana has heavy competition with such high rewards, but that’s not true. Study the accounts Bumblebee and Techies. They have relatively smaller accounts, but have already qualified for the first round of rewards.
Why Infinex?
Although there is slightly more competition between smaller sized accounts on Infinex, the rewards they are distributing are absolutely lucrative and are worth shooting your shot for.
The thing about Infinex is that it is based on progress each and every week, so by staying consistent you’re able to beat a large share of the competition you’re up against. Yaprun is currently already on Week 10 of S1, so it might be hard to break into the S1 leaderboard but S2 and S3 are yet to come so checking it out early may be beneficial.
Why Boundless?
The mainnet just launched and the diamond tasks don’t release until August 4th, which means you still have a lot of time to climb the leaderboard (at least 3 weeks).
Considering the Ethereum foundation has quote retweeted one of their tweets, this may be a good ZK tech project to follow.
Why Sei?
Although Sei has high competition, their team truly cares about their community. Despite my account being a very small one, I was sent a Sei Merch package with a high quality hoodie and hat for completely free (customs and shipping all paid off).
Furthermore, the numbers don't lie. Sei's TVL has been growing like crazy, and the average number of active wallets has increased. I want to be working close with a team that is open to criticism and is consistently improving top tier technology, and for that reason I choose Sei.
Why Humanity Protocol?
Yes, their airdrop was extremely shady. Were there a lot of people who didn’t get good airdrops? Definitely. I personally didn’t qualify for it and am not mad about that. However, Humanity Protocol is giving out 100K in rewards to top yappers which is one of the most under the radar rewards right now.
Since a lot of bigger accounts have already left the topic after their airdrop, this might be a good rewards opportunity for smaller accounts.
Appreciation
Thank you for tuning into my journey!
From my initial Kaito airdrop to Multipli Yapper drops and the Eclipse airdrop, this has been a wild ride so far.
The next major milestone I have set for myself is $3000, or just over double my current amount. My goal is to post, reply, and connect each and every day.
If you’re on your content and airdrop journey as well, let’s connect!
@alyctalks@Cointelegraph I agree. Wasn’t the company broiled into some controversies previously? We would have to see how this plays out though. Still bullish on Sei. #sei
@alyctalks Great post! Big on Eclipse as a founding tapper and Succinct as I voted for it with my sKAITO. Also excited for Humanity Protocol, Sei, and Mitosis!
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
@alyctalks I've been tuning into streams but that did not seem to bring me any xp :(
However, I've been trying to interact with apps like 77-bit and Roach race to hopefully earn more!
