i miss ao3 man epubs and pdfs arent the same i need to experience the joy of searching a random tag i like for ages until i find something incredible that makes me feel like ive seen god
@DemetriusJ97 character is raised in a fishing village in a setting inspired by ancient greece </3 the fishing aspect isn’t even really relevant in the story long term i’m just ridiculous
Being a writer is doing three hours of research about a city you’ve never been to just so you can craft three sentences that make sense and won’t piss of the locals. 😂
I’m surprised that no one has written a cultural essay about how the response to AO3’s collapse reflects a business mindset driving engagement in the arts (i.e. regular people talking about box office receipts as if they’re shareholders) and rampant individualism over community.
it’s so obvious to me who only discovered fandom in the last few years, bc anyone who’s been here for over a decade will join me in saying that preserving fanworks through places like google drive (with the credit preserved, as it always is on epubs) is VITAL
@hudleclerc2416 circadian rhythm delays occur in ridiculous numbers in ppl w adhd. like the 9pm shot of energy you described. i personally get really fucking tired around 8-9pm but if i push through it (which i pretty much always have to) i’m up until 2AM
@hudleclerc2416 i’m audhd so it’s kinda hard for me to imagine one without the other but it’s possible even if shane had experience w impaired interoception dealing w it in ilya’s body might be different bc the neuro development & body rhythms are different
@iminkain “content” “consumption” “engagement” yall have lost sight of the very essence of fanfiction. it’s embarrassing, it’s annoying, and it’s fucking sad. can you really not just enjoy something without crunching the numbers?
you think you have hardly changed at all and the you’re showed evidence of what you were like back then and suddenly it’s like ‘i have never seen that person in my life’
@Bear_8124 it would be interesting to see someone make use of or reference to autonomic dysfunction bc it’s really common in autistic ppl but i don’t think it’s talked abt as much as stuff like sensory issues
i don’t read many body swaps but i read one recently and it really had me wondering how much muscle memory is involved in speech/accents & whether they’d have to actually “put on” an accent or if it would just come naturally being in the body
hollanov bodyswap where ilya wakes up in shanes body and is like WHY are the lights loud WHY are the tags on my shirts evil WHY do I feel bad in my bones when my bare feet touch the ground WHY am I annoyed by miscellaneous sounds WHY do I feel itchy when I make eye contact
