Not really a theory, just one of my biggest issues with the movie.

It needed to be more Backrooms and less of an arthouse psychological thriller. Whenever it leaned into the Backrooms, it was great. Whenever it drifted away from that, it lost me.
Kat and her boyfriend were honestly more compelling than Clark and Emily. It felt like they understood the assignment, while the leads never fully sold me on the concept. #Backrooms
