@chaser_summit This supercell was from last September and caused lots of damage in Mesa, Az even flipping over planes at Falcon Field Airport. This is the backside of it after it passed over me.

One year ago today a massive thunderstorm moved through Phoenix and Scottsdale and then grew even more in intensity into a supercell as it hit Mesa, flipping over planes at Falcon Field. This is a shot of the backside of it as it moved through Mesa, Az.

Lightning strikes in the desert north east of Phoenix around sunset last night.

I saw this small storm on a radar when it was out past Maricopa and watched as it grew and looked like it would track towards Tempe. I haven’t shot lightning on Tempe Town Lake before so headed out there and caught these bolts.
