Item variety is always hailed as what makes or breaks a #roguelike.
From Isaac's flies to EtG's Ser Junkan, Companion type items have always been some of my favs.
What's the one Companion you have to pick up every time you see it ?

@BeanJuiceStudio Try to progress your game even a little bit every single day. That way the game's energy is always present in your thoughts.
Every 6-8 weeks you should allow yourself to take a small break to avoid burnout.
One of the most disappointing things in a #roguelike game is finding the same weapon… just recolored.
From spatulas to actual swords to fish clubs, every weapon should be unique. 🔥⚡️
What are some weird weapons/swords you'd like to see in a roguelike?
#indiegame
@KryyssX Hmm can definitely work for gun/rifle weapons for example.
Body, scope, ammo
3 bodies, 3 scopes and 3 ammo variations can lead to 9 different weapons.
Or the Hero could have separated body parts (hair, body, eyes) and have items activate them. 🤔🤔
Weapons will now belong to Elemental Families with their own evolution paths.
Which element are you maining: Fire 🔥, Ice 🧊, Lightning ⚡️or Occult 🌑?
#roguelike#indiegame
Quick before/after on a few fire-type weapons. 🔥
Gamedevs/artists, how often do you get the urge to redesign your entire game as your understanding evolves? 😅

Making a roguelike "readable" is harder than it looks!
I've added simpler enemies like the Bat and tightened the Epoch system to make the opening levels much smoother for new players.
The goal: less confusion, more action. 🔥

@BeanJuiceStudio After playing hundreds of PS2 and PC games, I developed a very vivid imagination and I wanted to tell a story while combining elements of my favourite games of all-time.
I think that if I didn't start making a game, I would write a book. 😅
