Air Vice-Marshal George Phillip Black, CB, OBE, celebrated his 91st birthday this week. His son, @BlickyIan arranged a special day for his father - the arrival of Lightning XP693 to the former RAF Binbrook!

What's in the box - after months of secrecy XP693 the Warton Lightning has returned to its spiritual home - It was wonderful to see my father with his life long friends - the cream of Cold War fighter pilots. ~ @Airfix more to come - but it's going to look amazing

Today is 12 Squadron Day at RAF Binbrook! Arriving here on this day in 1940 and staying until July 1943 flying Fairey Battles and Wellingtons, they returned here again in Sept 1945 remaining for 14 years, equipped with Lancasters, Lincolns and Canberras. Such a rich history!

On Wednesday 7 June 23, the @RAFRugbyUnion Binbrook Bomb competition returned home with an explosion of rugby!

Supported by @h15church and the Local Parish Council, @RoyalAirForce were delighted to return to the historic home of the Lightning at RAF Binbrook! Find out more ⬇️

We were privileged, as custodians of the former RAF Binbrook site, to host a celebration in honour of the magnificent 617 Squadron @RoyalAirForce Bomber Command & treated to a wonderful @RAFBBMF Lancaster fly past on the 80th Anniversary of Operation Chastise 16.05.43 ❤️ @IntBCC

HAPPY 460 DAY!
Exactly 80 years ago today the legendary @AusAirForce 460 Squadron arrived at @RAF Binbrook
460 made an enormous contribution in WWII as part of Bomber Command & played a pivotal role in Op Manna.
Today we celebrate their inspirational courage and sacrifice 🇦🇺❤️
