Moreover, as every young person raised in Communist Yugoslavia, he must have known of German crimes committed during the war: killing thousands of villagers for nothing. One of the world's most brutal murderers is finally dead.
At 84 years old the former Bosnian Serb general, Ratko Mladić lived way longer than he allowed his tens of thousands of victims.
The more than 7000 Muslim men and boys he had slaughtered in Srebrenica will be his enduring shame.
At least he was tried by an International Criminal Tribunal and found guilty of his enormous crimes of genocide.

When we talk about Ratko Mladic, I understand the need to point to the 8,000 Bosniaks he massacred in Srebrenica but Mladic’s crimes go beyond Srebrenica. He is not just responsible for the murders of 8,000 but the massacres of tens of thousands of Bosniaks throughout BiH.
