It's official: Formula 1 will stage a long-anticipated return to the African continent in the 2030s. The #AfricanGP will mark the first F1 race on the continent in almost 40 years, with the last South African Grand Prix having taken place at Kyalami in 1993.

This time, F1 has a 10-year agreement in place to race in Rwanda. Though an exact timeframe has not been announced, the African Grand Prix will join the calendar “in the early 2030s”. The race will take place at a brand new purpose-built circuit in Bugesera.

The new track has not yet broken ground but is expected to be open for business early next decade. Read more about the news 👇️

Verstappen is the second driver to win on his 250th start. Lewis Hamilton won his 250th race, the 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. They are the only two drivers to have made their first 250 starts at consecutive races
