@KemiBadenoch you talk at #pmqs about council tax soaring under Labour. Did you forget that Thurrock had a 10% increase under the conservative government and a conservative council without a referendum.
@jennyeclair Same happened to me yesterday, Delivery states handed to resident, well no-one was in so don’t know how they managed that! Refund requested
Behind last nights anti-racist stance is a dedicated bunch of incredible people - our Youth & Community Workers - quietly, diligently and professionally engaging communities, educating and de-escalating conflict. They are to often unsung and forgotten and sadly often decimated but terrible cuts. But, Y&CW’s were there doing what they do best. To every volunteer, youth worker and supporter from @natyouthagency THANK YOU!
@10DowningStreet@lisanandy@DCMS Really hope youth work will get a boost now, too much money has been wasted on NCS and vanity projects by the previous governments. Before NCS young people up and down the country had year round services let’s get that back.
@AliceMHopkin Must have only knocked the doors of people oblivious to the disatrious failings of #ThurrockConservatives in bankrupting the local authority and saddling residents with years of debt then.
@krsqflm @BLAIMGame@Keir_Starmer@YvetteCooperMP@ThurrockJen Thurrock Conservatives have already raised the council tax twice in successive years 10% then 8%. They raised it over the referendum level with permission by @Conservatives after bankrupting the Council
@JackieDP The Thurrock Conservatives have left Thurrock residents picking up the pieces of their financial incompetence so please don’t preach on here about raising taxes.
@PennyMordaunt Explain why I have giant bills and will for years thanks to @Conservatives bankrupting Thurrock Council. 1.53billion and the taxpayers are picking it up locally. No one locally understands why your Government blocked a public enquiry
@Keir_Starmer@UKLabour Will you be looking into the financial mismanagement of @thurrockcouncil if Labour are Government given the Conservatives and our current MP are against an inquiry
@jessphillips 2.5bn the cost of this would restore the cuts made in 2012 to the youth sector. A sector that provided weekly, year round support to young people well before they were 18. Offered skill development and promoted volunteering. Cons don’t care
@jemmaforte There was country wide youth clubs & youth work social action projects before the cuts in 2012, which gave young people development opportunities & way before they were 18. They could have reversed those cuts at any point in the last 14yrs, they don’t care.
