Very different from a player willingly leaving college, failing in the NFL, then using college as a fall back.

A judge ruled that these players have an extra year of eligibility. Eligibility =/= a roster spot or playing time. LSU (and Texas) could choose to not roster these players or roster them and not play them and still be within the ruling of the court. But they are choosing not to.

Technically 97%~ of college graduates have 4 years of eligibility but we don’t play because teams don’t have to let us play. LSU doesn’t have to play these players. They’re choosing to.
