Interested in using the mock social media website tool for your research? We want to know what features we should add & how we can make it accessible.
You or anyone you think may be interested (please share!) can give us feedback using this 15 min survey: https://t.co/Jji6VG05db
Pls RTWT! @RyersonU@yorkuniversity@lesley_zannella@suddaland: Seeking PhD students who have previously taught/currently teaching an undergrad class (any discipline!) to speak about their experiences. Link 2 short (10-15mins; REB file #2019-310) survey: https://t.co/G7yiRbykAU
A team of researchers led by Alyssa Saiphoo at Ryerson analyzed several studies to determine whether there is a correlation between social media use and self-esteem. https://t.co/8zvhPFdzGL
Analysis of 121 prior studies finds that social-networking websites explains almost nothing about differences in people's self-esteem.

Moreover, we found that the literature tends to focus on and hypothesize potential negative aspects of SNS use (i.e., problematic use), but not so much positive SNS use. Could be due to the lack of available measures or consensus on what constitutes positive SNS use. 5/5

However, this relationship is still unclear, given the numerous operationalizations of problematic SNS use (i.e., dependency vs. addiction) and the prevalence of this type of behaviour. 4/5
