It is done in very few private facilities.
@AttoGladys I once referred a 9 year old boy following a snake bite the previous evening. He clearly had complications. The mother understood the assignment. However, on the way back home, a senior citizen convinced them otherwise. 2 days later, he died. I have still not recovered.
@AttoGladys There is nothing encouraging to health workers in resource limited settings like referring a patient to a facility that can do more and they actually go and receive that service.
@AttoGladys Like the old adage goes, "charity begins at home"; most of the health workers in this country with a good work ethic had very hardworking parents. As for the problematic ones, well...........
