The clouds roll in again eventually, leaving Beamy once again with the night light as her only source of light.

But she sleeps soundly, blanket tangled up around her, and pacifier in mouth, eyes closed until the sun rises once more.

“…uuuuughhh….euuuugh….”

A little voice breaks the silence of the little cabin by the meadow.

So does some gentle creaking, accompanied by plasticky rustling.

It would be coming from inside one of the nurseries.

A very dimly lit nursery.

Whether she wakes up and struggles, or sleeps right through the inevitable, her mommy left her ready to at least keep her bed dry.

Fortunately, it turns out she is heard.

Mommy @ABrightPetal comes to her rescue, changing her out of the goopy mess she was just lying in.

And underneath the blankie, her diapers protecting her from a wet, uncomfortable bed.

Something else she is familiar with that won’t be going away any time soon.

But right now, in this moment, she sleeps, resting towards a brand new day surrounded by those she knows and loves.

There’s many things that a new year brings.

New hope for good things to come.

New opportunities.

New experiences.

All things that the little filly sleeping soundly in her crib has to look forward to.

She just doesn’t know it yet.

But that’s fine. She will learn in time to make sense of the world around her, and soon interact with it with speech, thought, and movement.

But for now, her eyes are closed and she rests.

Her summer was full of fun and development, and more fun and development is to come in the new season.

This is the timeline where she came back from the brink. She may be a big baby, but she is here, wondering just what will happen next.

Of course, this isn’t that timeline for the young bat.

Her birth family turned their tails on her, leaving her in the care of a system that almost killed her.

She has no concept of school, or Nightmare Night, or just anything around her.

It sounds like the worst timeline.

The world through Beamy’s eyes is a strange, confusing world. One that she sometimes doesn’t get.

But as long as she sees her mommy, her sisters @MiddyBatty and @HoovesInHuggies, her babysitter @ChangrOfPanales, or anypony familiar, she knows things will be okay.
