A summary of the ending to the FCS National Championship game:

4Q 5:10 - Illinois State ties the game on a 25-yard TD pass on 3rd & 9.

4Q 0:57 - Montana State blocks Illinois State’s 37-yard field goal attempt, picking it up and returning it to the other 45-yard line.

4Q 0:22 - Montana State snaps the ball over their QB’s head for a loss of 20 yards, killing any hope at a FG attempt.

OT - Illinois State gets the ball first, scores touchdown, but then has their EXTRA POINT BLOCKED.

OT - Illinois State’s defense holds up for 3 downs, forcing a 4th & 10, then Montana State throws a 15-yard TD. Due to the blocked extra point before, Montana State’s extra point ends up being the walk-off winner for the national title.
