Phenakistoscope #animation of tetrapod evolution! I based the animals on #Coelacanth, #Gooloogongia, #Tiktaalik, #Acanthostega and #Ichthyostega. They are not direct descendants of one another, but represent the most important characteristics in this moment of evolution.

Petromyzon Ammocoea is a pelagic lamprey species that evolved through neoteny (retention of larval stage) to stay only 1-2 cm long, surviving as a parasite in the deep ocean.
