If your baby sleeps well it’s not hard to have a baby. But if your baby doesn’t sleep well it is very very very very very very very hard. People with sleepy babies and non sleepy babies are not understanding each others realities here
Having kids of both sexes really dispels you of any ideas of social construction of the child’s interests. My son is a barbarian and my daughter is a princess and these things came purely from their own internal motivations.
i know everyone is allowed to experience discomfort and its valid and yadda yadda, but the next time a mom with a baby says “i’m so tired” and someone with no kids in their home says “me too” i think a piano should fall on them
How tired am I? Well, I just watch an ant crawl across my table and immediately the intrusive thoughts go “thanks buddy, now I won’t need to wipe up those crumbs”
"She can just pump!" wins the prize for the most common take I see that makes me blazingly angry
Pumping is work and needs to be planned for - you can't just wake up one day and be like "today I feel like leaving my baby at home, let me just pump for a minute, bye!"
Just heard a woman say,
“I would give birth to triplets unmedicated in a bath in a motel 6 by myself before I got a dog again.”
And I’ve never resonated with anything more.
@mamagenevieve Big totes in the attic! Every couple of weeks I pull one down, dump it, and then refill it with “old” toys. We have three totes which I rotate through.
Day 17 of Jared working 7/12’s on night shift: the stomach bug has come and gone (but not before both kids threw up in my bed on different nights), Arya is now cutting two new molars, and I’m TIRED.
@hellanddespair This!! Also some stuff doesn’t matter? I still have a credit card in my maiden name (we’ve been married 6 years 😬) but it still works and it was a pain to change so I gave up. Who cares 🤷🏼♀️
Today I drove my SUV to target, got Starbucks, drank from my Stanley cup, and came home to 3 packages in front of the door. I’m really hitting my stride as a stay at home mom 😂
