I agree with some points Lam made, but not his overall message. Lam writes "Narcissism and voyeurism have become the drivers of the digital world, a mirror of our own" this is true in the way we see people obsessed with their image online, just like in real life #WritingStudies02

If an essay is a conversation with the readers, a proposition makes more sense. A proposition is the writers ideas and thoughts, which may be different from the readers. Most importantly it is not final or definite, but open for conversation, unlike a thesis. #WritingStudies02

Something that resonated with me from the passage is that if we can think of our essays as a conversation with our audience, similar to our conversations over text with friends, writing essays can suddenly seem much less daunting. #WritingStudies02
