Bought a JVC TV from @currys on 6 Oct 2025. Developed screen faults (lines & shadowing) within months. Store only offering a repair, but under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be of satisfactory quality & durable. I’ve lost confidence in the product.
It’s also the only TV in the house, and I’ve already had to pay to remove it from a media wall setup. I don’t think it’s reasonable to be left without a TV or risk another failure after repair.
I’m now pushing for a replacement or refund, not a repair.

@BHAHorseracing first isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s essential for the future of the sport. Because when situations like this are glossed over, it only fuels criticism and leaves a bitter feeling for those who genuinely care about racing.
@BHAHorseracing What really bothers me is the lack of honesty and accountability when things go wrong. Nobody wants to see horses come to harm, yet the way this was handled made an already sad situation feel much worse. The coverage brushed over it far too quickly, and the official response felt
@BHAHorseracing serious questions that the horse wasn’t pulled up sooner. Seeing it pushed on and whipped to the line, only to collapse shortly after, was deeply uncomfortable to watch.
Moments like this matter. How they’re handled matters even more. Being open, honest, and putting welfare
@BHAHorseracing more like deflection than transparency. That only damages trust in the sport.
From what was visible, the horse appeared to break down either at or just after the fence. Even to an untrained eye, something clearly wasn’t right. For a jockey of that level of experience, it raises
@RacingTV The horse ran on due to adrenaline! Is that ok? Townend has to told to dismount by Cobden when the horse is basically collapsing! Absolutely non of this is right and anybody condoning it should be ashamed. I have ridden horses my whole life. I know a hind leg lameness can be hard
@RacingTV to feel in a gallop however that horse had broken down and that would have been evident. I am not saying it could have been prevented but he could have at least tried to pull it up instead of whipping it over the line it’s barbaric and then for ITV Racing to be so disrespectful
@itvracing With this incident and the Envoi Allen at Cheltenham I am increasingly becoming concerned about horse racing! The cover ups are horrendous just own it! Anybody knows when a horse has broken its back let alone any experienced horseman ! I am disgusted and disappointed! Cover up
I don’t think age alone is the factor that makes this so upsetting. What makes it harder to accept is that this was a horse who had already achieved so much in his career.
Envoi Allen ran 31 times, winning 17 races, including 10 Grade 1 victories, and earned over £1.1 million
it feels like he was run simply to have a runner in the Gold Cup, and that’s incredibly hard to accept when the welfare of the horse should always come first. Envoi Allen was a wonderful horse who gave everything to the sport. After everything he achieved, he deserved far better
