A few people I spoke to were like “well what do I get out of this?”, that’s such a selfish mindset to have. You go to UTSA, this will add value to your degree, it helps ALL of athletics. There are 14 schools in our conference, we are 14th in funding & now will stay that way +

UTSA announces results of the athletic fee referendum

For – 1,730 or 29.33%.
Against – 4,168 or 70.66

@RSalak Only about $300 or so of that athletics fee goes to athletics, the rest of that 7k or so is all academics. I’m wondering the same thing, where does the rest of that go??

@ChrisC60898928 @Johnny_Fontane When athletics is doing well, people start looking at UTSA more. Not just at athletics, but now also academics. It makes UTSA more known to others.

@Stevough @KentWestmorela1 Right! It would’ve been nice if it was increased though. We need more funding for all the departments in athletics, that would’ve creative, marketing, film & so many others. I just within the next few years we try again & it gets passed, they deserve it.

@thelitmedallion @Johnny_Fontane Yes! The RACE building was built from donations. I don’t think many realize we already get donations, but that’s mainly for football because our coaches SEEK donors. But we have the rest of athletics that needs help.

@wreckitmanny @LiveFromUTSA You can get fees like the rec, library, lab & I think few others dismissed. But you have to go through a process, they have to check your student id swipes & stuff.
