Mac Miller, Em, Action Bronson, etc. are celebrated and not treated as outsiders because they’re actually about this shit. They didn’t pick up rapping because they knew it’d go viral, they did because they were in community with Black folks & loved the art
Black people as a whole have never really had a problem with white boys rapping, even in the golden age you had the Beastie Boys. It’s the use of rap as a stepping stone to further fame and fortune that’s the issue - a la Post Malone
