The new road connects villages and is significant because it is what we have prayed for, but it covers less than 20% of what is needed. We hope to see more, but until then, please don’t tell Nigerians our road problems have been solved. We have some of the worst roads in Nigeria.
The “Gembu–Mbamga–Yang road” is real, and we thank Mr President and all who made it possible. But it is not true that it “connects the hilly plateau with the rest of Nigeria.” Mayo Selbe–“Hawan Biyu Da Sisi”–Gembu remains the ONLY road linking Mambilla to the rest of the country.
No, this is not some far-flung holiday dream location. It's the beautiful Mambilla plateau adorned with the new Gembu–Mbamga–Yang road executed by the Tinubu administration. This life-saving road connects residents of the Mambilla plateau to the Republic of Cameroon border via Donga River on one hand, connects the hilly plateau with the rest of Nigeria, on the other side.
This road has a story, a very historic one.
When Nigeria lobbied communities in this area to vote to be with Nigeria ahead of the 1961 UN Plebiscite to determine the fate of the old Northern Cameroons, people of this beautiful paradise requested construction of this road among their asks if they were to join Nigeria. They were promised. However that promised remained unfulfilled until the coming of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has now changed the story of what was a death trap.
Thank you, Mr President. Arewa na godiya!

That road it is terribly bad, with no construction ongoing. It is also not true that the road promised since the plebiscite remained undelivered until President Tinubu. The Babangida administration had already broken through the difficult terrain and connected us to Nigeria
Connecting to friends/family is now mostly treated like the backyard garden we always plan to tend to. We just always seem to put it off till next week. There is always a promise to call/text/stop by tomorrow.
For El-Rufa’i, you can only hate him but nothing you say, will impeach his credibility and competence. He’s proven himself worthy over the years. He’s a generational leader perfectly fit for this generation. So, hate him all you want, but Nigeria needs him and others like him.

1. BAWA REFUSES TO WRITE A STATEMENT AT THE DSS:.Today is 17 days since when Bawa reported to the DSS on invitation. Ever since then, he only sleeps, eats, stretches, etc, but declined to write a statement. ACJA 2015 and police Act gives him that window. But for how long??? 2
@liman_adam That's the problem with populist leaders. Most of the lands under reference are public lands. The monies used to purchase them must have gone to public coffers. So where's the illegality?
We need the tribunal to restore Gawuna's mandate. 🙂
I don’t really like the way the new Kano State governor is going about his things. If the previous administration illegally allocated or sold out those lands, the new administration should follow due process in revoking and demolishing. You cannot cure illegality with illegality
Because of your impulsive rush to antagonize your predecessor, you have bypassed the court and turned your state into an open field for thieves. The criminals are valorizing their acts and calling them "ganima" — "the spoils of war" — as they scavenge properties that you ordered demolished. Even the police appear helpless in this chaos, which is reason enough to reconsider this strategy and resume with a plan that ensures order and security.
We need to be careful about what we wish for, though. I support his aim but the rush is suspect and shows he's bypassing the court to demolish illegal structures. The owners of this property didn't buy the lands from random scammers. They bought them from a legitimate government.
What a World Cup! Ronaldo out, Neymar out, Debruyne out, Messi is joining them soon and Morocco in semi final. History in the most dramatic and fashionable way.
Both Owen Hargreaves and Michael Owen have excelled remarkably on the pitch and are likely to be some of the best pundits ever. I most a times enjoy their pre and post match analysis more than the match itself.
