The overly simplified and strongly corporate feel to the 2026 logo is most likely an attempt to make the branding to be more easily matched xeroxed into different branding. Less uniqueness and more batch-production vibes.
Reflects this era of Technocracy that we're currently in.
World Cup logos of the past naturally matched the optimism that the notion of Globalization represented to most ppl at the time. Generally colourful ideas for each logo.
The 2026 logo reflects where likely Western society is today. Minimalist and accused of being too corporate.
@_KayTheLame_ Sheer lack of Black-owned venues in 2020s in comparison to the 2000s to even allow us to honor past genres.
Lack of Black radio in the 2010s: Choice FM becoming Capital XTRA etc.
Instead of getting a BBC Black Network like Asians were given we got the diluted and sanitized 1xtra
Also interesting to note how past logos differentiate from the initial bid World Cup logos. Arguably Qatar, but CERTAINLY USA is the first finalized logo to become less sophisticated and unique after its bid logo.

Again demonstrating how the intention for the bland template logo is because the bigger picture is to be able to make it easier to help promote/market other things
Whether this sacrifice for colour, energy or vibrance is worth it is highly debatable. But its certainly intentional
@LFCLaurie You reckon this current side definitely better than Ricardo, Carvalho, Maniche, Tiago, Deco, Costinha, Nuno Gomes, Figo, Simao, Pauleta, Petit, N.Valente and C.Ronaldo of the mid 2000s?
@MezahiMaher@AJE_Sport Really appreciated the Striking Paradox section of the article and the work of Cherif Sadio at Casa Sports FC.
Certainly speaks volumes for the content if even Senegal is having this problem.
@s6lumzs Usher helped create the end of the Black Boy in Pop by creating Justin Bieber.
Bieberfication ended the Black Male Pop star.
Why does the industry need another Black Male Pop star now that the Black community have finally co-signed a mediocre cosplaying culture vulture?
@jff_football JFF Youth Coaches deserve massive credit for this result. Even a year ago this result looked impossible from where the setup was.
This sort of progress is seriously inspiring and makes me proud as a Jamaican.
@MinaFootball mask-off moment for WSL if so. Would be a great way to confirm that WSL intend to take after the current PL model immediately and become the undisputed biggest salary payers in Europe. This summer window will likely remove all doubt!
It’s funny how there’s a new threshold for appreciation that’s trending downward for everything that exists in the world. We now laud a company for not doing a bad thing when before it wasn’t an option. They have a new opportunity to be rewarded for not doing things worse
Entirely logical that virtually all 20th century-built European sports stadiums - hosting local institutions - naturally emerged centrally in communities. Accessible, affordable, authentic. Long before a distinctly unhealthy car-centric obsession, which dominates U.S. planning.
@AnthonyDwayneM1 It becomes a debate of which is more important?
Quality & Integrity of a National League or Quality of a nation's upcoming talent pool?
Spain's lower leagues are far less monetarily valuable than England leagues and part of that is due England not allowing B Teams
What people are failing to understanding in this incident is that even though Garnacho meant it in good faith, Onana took it well & both 100% mean no harm, the post still propagates a racial stereotype that millions across the world are trying to fight. There's no bad intention here, but it's still tone deaf, needed to be taken down & requires some education on why it's an issue.
