Amorim’s Manchester United Blueprint
In this in-depth analysis, I break down Amorim's tactical philosophy, detail each role in his system & assess Man Utd’s squad fit for each position. I also predict potential ins & outs. RTs appreciated!

@saundzo Good point. Can also push Bruno higher and get Ramos to link up so Bruno can run off him. But yes they badly need runners. Even Leao enjoys getting the ball to feet and dribbling. Same for CR, Neto, Felix, Bernardo, Conceicao.
All my thoughts on an Éderson deal. I actually rate the player & get the logic of why this feels like a good value deal for a quality player. All my issues are with the profile & the increased pressure of getting the right profiles after this. Esp if Tonali rumour is also true.
@NathanAClark What's the matter with your transfers? Why have they been so clueless and random for a while now? Think Ange era was still okay. Too many youth but still made sense. Post Ange every link doesn't even sound like an upgrade.
@alextalksall Totally agree. That lack of agility and acceleration is the issue given current PL climate. Even though he's lovely on the ball for a deeper player. The kind of profile that would have worked very well just a few seasons ago.
@EAlabi2@Silvakn0ws I think he will become cautious, but that will make him a very overly safe player. A bit like how Herrera became towards the end with us.

🚨 JUST IN:
Last night, Manchester United increased their initial offer to Atalanta for Éderson of €40m plus €7m in bonuses to a fixed base of €47-48m plus bonuses. Éderson already reached an agreement with United a week ago. #MUFC [@AlfredoPedulla]
@EAlabi2@Silvakn0ws refers to it as well in this section. I just think it will be a bigger issue in the PL where that recovery pace advantage that he gets in Serie A will be non existent. Way too many transitions & quick dribblers for this not to be exposed a lot more.
Ads this to the essential Éderson reading. So much of what I wanted to say or show about hsi skillet has been done perfectly here. If I had time this is exactly what I would have done too. Silva nailed it. Must read.

Very well deserved. I complain about our recruitment a lot, but they deserve all the flowers for this one. This is as good as a "hidden gem" signing as it gets considering today's hyper-aware atmosphere. He can keep getting even better from here on.
More buys like this please.
Been keeping an eye on him. When we do the RB upgrade next year, we can buy Palestra. Just 21 but improving rapidly. One more year of development and he'd be ideal to sign for us.
Marco Palestra - Carrying Profile and Analysis
-Palestra caught my eye earlier this season as he stood out for ball carrying among full-backs in Serie A.
-Relentless ball carrier, is not one dimensional with his carries. He can go out wide and put in a cross and make the run into the penalty area as well.
-Important context needed here is that some of his numbers are inflated due to his wing-back type role. On average, he receives the ball higher up the pitch than a traditional full-back.
-The post-carry pass map shows that he has found success while putting in crosses from wider areas.
-But carries that ended up directly inside the box mostly ended in an unsuccessful pass afterwards.
My genuine take is that Iraola shouldn't have gone up to a top PL club. Leverkusen would have been great for him whilw Milan shepherd by Rangnick could have worked too. LIV has more issues to sort & will need some transfers & his thinking to change IP. None impossible, but tough.
What I felt below is same for Iraola to Liverpool. Same doubts exist & LIV have an unbalanced squad too due to last summer's poor window. That said, LIV are more combative than us & this has some parallel with Klopp era. If their summer is better & Iraola evolves IP, could work.
Not a fan of this. Iraola is heavily reliant on a strong pressing setup that brings games down to a lower quality level where his teams can outfight the opposition. Neither does this align with our team (we're not good pressers) nor does it align with a top team that dominates IP
@Joseph10432522 3 CMs, 1 LB, 1 CB, 1 CF all ahead of LW for me coz they have starter issues.
And as things stand Dorgu is seen as a LW over LB and I agree with Carrick on that.
Really don't like the idea. Think we should skip LW this window and focus on midfield & defence. That marquee LW attacker will cost big & should be the top-impact signing we do once the spine & tactics are set (like how Arsenal need a top LW now coz everything else is set).
