One of my absolute favourite examples of @KamalaHarris shutting down her critics:
"You know what? I am not President of the United States. You wanna go to the White House? And talk to him? Then go on and do that. Shit!"
Soy fiel defensor de que si sientes un odio visceral por Gabi después de este momento de la serie, careces de comprensión narrativa en la ficción con la que interactúas y genuinamente no has entendido nada de SNK.
Holy smokes! GUYS! Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter was Falcoms best selling game ever, hitting a 4K+ peak on the Sunday after release, which was unheard of for the series. Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter has 11K+ on a weekday! On sunday it may pass all Trails games combined!
Brace yourselves, racers! Bayonetta will join CrossWorlds as the first new character in Year Two, bringing her signature non-stop action to the racetrack! 📢
Tune in to the World Championship Finals on 10/9 for a special showcase on what's ahead in Year Two. 🏁
I think I’m just too old. I think I’ve lived too many lives and lost too much. I don’t think I can ever really be a part of anything because I’m from a place that doesn’t exist anymore and I can’t forget it. I feel like I’m wandering the world like a ghost waiting for the end
Human moral reasoning relies extensively on metaphors from physical experience.
We say “you’re sick!” or “he’s dirty” as moral metaphors because we being sick or dirty in real life is an unpleasant experience.
So if you tell people “better to be more dysgenic” and construct fitness as definitionally fascistic (even if it *can* be, in some circumstances), people will think you’re insane, because they know how it feels to be sick and weak (bad), and how it feels to be fit (good). You’re telling them that the thing they know as a state of suffering is virtue, and they thing they know as a state of pleasure is sin.
So, yeah, people will reject yu.
There’s also a leftist tic on display here—to simply invert all existing morality in order to reject everything contaminated by capitalist hegemony. “Capitalists think being sick and disabled is bad; therefore it is good.”
But this misidentifies which things exist *because* of capitalism, and which things predate it and have been metabolized into it; people have been using sickness and health as moral metaphors for millennia (probably forever, tbh, but can’t say for sure without written sources). Long before capitalism, people were doing this. Why? Because it feels bad to be sick! And it feels good to be fit and physically capable! That is actually a pretty universal human experience.
So if you try to invert that and render sickness and disability as metaphorically or literally virtuous, people will find you insane

I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.
