Hello Admin and the confessors,
I'm a 17-year-old gentleman in Senior Four.
It may be surprising for me to be here confessing, but I just want to share something with the public and advise some of the confessors.
All my life, I've been living with a single mother and a younger sibling. I know my father and have seen him before, but I've never lived with him—and honestly, I don't hope to.
I decided to come out after seeing many confessions from people bragging about doing immoral things and acting unbothered about the consequences, including abandoning children who result from their actions. Children like me are silently suffering because of this.
Some may argue this happens due to financial struggles, but I see it as intentional behavior. Why would a man father over 10 children from different mothers? How does he expect to fully support their education, daily needs, and medical care? What saddens me even more is seeing such people proudly brag about their actions, while others even applaud them.
Imagine, the only school fees my father ever paid for me was in 2015 (P.2) worth UGX 80,000. Yet, somewhere out there, he brags about having a son! I last saw him in 2019 by accident in Nateete, where he promised me a pair of shoes I never received (I was nearly barefoot). The last time we talked was in June, and again, it ended in an empty promise.
Sometimes I wonder if he’s just broke, but then I remember—why are we so many? Why does he keep lying? Why does he never show up? Why have we never received any real support from him?
Since joining secondary school, I've been meeting my school needs through promotions like MTN’s GoGames (which is now off) and help from a certain politician who is retiring this year. I worry about what will happen to me when that support ends, especially because I wish to join Advanced Level.
I know there are worse stories than mine, but what pains me most is seeing some confessors arrogantly brag about the causes of such suffering. The cost of living keeps rising—will you really be able to care for all those children you're bringing into the world? Think about the future instead of doing things that will later bring you shame.
When you do wrong, don’t brag about it in public. Your words can influence someone out there. If I weren’t in this situation, wouldn’t I be tempted to copy what I see adults doing?
I’m ready to learn from adults: What can I do about this man? I know my heart is bitter towards him. I’d appreciate any advice.
The cutest thing you are going to see today!!
