@Tecs4Life@SnapdragonStdm Hey I appreciate your insight and thoughtful response. I have worked in event operations on the medical side as well for a large portion of my career. I agree with you this is on higher ups and not the frontline staff. I think the planning should have been better, that’s all.
@WesSDCali@SnapdragonStdm It’s Colombia, not Columbia. If demand jumped from Friday, that’s an argument for planning, not an excuse against it. Nobody gets criticized for being prepared for bigger crowds than expected. They get criticized when a crowd exposes operational weaknesses. I had fun thank you.
@WesSDCali@SnapdragonStdm I don’t think they should be caught off guard by this, and should have planned for it. I’ve worked in events like this for half of my career and this is my opinion. I think we just have to agree to disagree.
@JayHrndz2@SnapdragonStdm I know reading is REALLY hard, but I said this was the last friendly match BEFORE the World Cup. My point was they have work to do before they host OLYMPIC games in 2028.
@WesSDCali@SnapdragonStdm If they had to close a gate because they couldn’t handle the crowd today, it’s valid to say they have work to do before they host an international event. 2/2
@WesSDCali@SnapdragonStdm The Padres messed up a giveaway night this season, and occasional entry issues doesn’t make this any less relevant. That shows that even experienced venues can get overwhelmed. The Olympics are going to be much more demanding than a friendly match. 1/2
@WesSDCali@SnapdragonStdm They had 28k today, it wasn’t even a sell out. It’s the last friendly before the World Cup, they should have planned for a larger crowd. I’d rather over plan and be prepared than under plan and be caught off guard. Failing to plan is planning to fail.
@SD__clippers@SnapdragonStdm Scanners weren’t down. I can’t speak for others about arriving late, but closing another gate right before it started made things worse. The event medical team was told to take cover because they closed another gate. Then everyone started rushing other gates and cutting lines.
@mdrizzy22@SnapdragonStdm I love San Diego, but Snapdragon just could not get this figured out. I don’t understand how they could be so woefully unprepared.
