The house today voted down the camp tax bill LD 1337!

The camp tax bill LD 1337 is on the house calendar today. It would allow municipalities to adopt an ordinance to impose an impact fee or tax on second homes in Maine. It’s simply another local option tax and Maine chamber opposes it!

Today the Taxation Committee voted 7-4 OTP-A on LD 1337 which would allow towns to enact ordinances to impose a fee (call it a tax or local option tax) on second homes (camps too) in Maine. As if Mainers don’t already pay enough in property taxes! Maine chamber opposes this bill!
