#sapsGP [A ZIMBABWEAN NATIONAL ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY MANUFACTURING FRAUDULENT SA IDENTITY CARDS]

On Wednesday, 09/09, police received information about a man allegedly recruiting people who required South African smart identity cards, as well as forged bank statements and payslips.

Following verification of the information, police conducted an operation in the Hillbrow policing precinct. The operation resulted in the search and seizure of six SA smart identity cards, 22 blank SA smart identity cards, a laptop and a smart card printing machine.

A Zimbabwean national was subsequently arrested and is expected to appear in court soon.

Anyone with information about illegal activities taking place in and around their area is urged to contact the SAPS #CrimeStop line on 08600 10111 or anonymously via the #MySAPSApp.
