Some football matches end when the final whistle blows. Others leave behind a rivalry that refuses to die.

The CHAN 2024 clash between South Africa and Uganda at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, was exactly that. It had everything, tension, drama, and a stadium hanging on every moment.

To me, that game marked the beginning of a football rivalry between the two countries that is yet to be settled.

And then there was our very own football commentator, @jermaine_egesa, who delivered exceptionally on the day. His commentary only added fuel to an already electric atmosphere.

I can’t wait to see more of this drama when AFCON comes to East Africa in 2027.
