Perimenopause affects more than just our periods. These words are from a patient who had been struggling with so many symptoms including poor sleep (around 2 hours each night), low mood, anxiety, memory problems, palpitations, headaches and urinary symptoms.
She was feeling so much better after a few months of HRT and testosterone but her GP has refused to prescribe hormones for her so all her symptoms have returned. She has been offered antidepressants and tramadol - which hadn’t worked last year when she had been prescribed them in the past - so contacted me again for advice and treatment.
Perimenopause affects our brains - these three hormones are made in our brains and work all over our brains. Women should not be suffering like this.
