@NurseStandard Sadly this is not isolated. When the new nurse fails to recognise the simplest of nursing terms - it’s not a language barrier, it’s a concern. Accepting foreign certifications as genuine, easy interviews because of desperation to fill the gaps - leads to this.

@NurseStandard @NSeditor Yes if you compare the pay progression scale of teachers and the additional payments received for extra tasks , the teachers payscale is quicker and higher paid than that of the nurses. Plus they have 13 weeks holiday and shorter working days. How is that equitable?

@NurseStandard The NHS are gatekeeping. Knowing full well of its effectiveness & can see the public are paying for it - they have no intention of changing this & carrying the costs! There is no need for this drug to be kept in tier 3. GPs could manage this safely & effectively.

@campbellclaret @RoryStewartUK I’m not sure what YOUR point is? As his point is perfectly clear & he actually isn’t wrong. The UK appears hellbent on supporting others at a detriment to itself. Week 1 - gives away 80million abroad. Week 2 - cuts public funding. Why? The UK deserves better.

@NurseStandard I have been saying for the last 2 yrs there are bogus nurses. Lessons are never learned - eg the test for accents as our citizens need to understand, suddenly we need nurses so that rule is conveniently dropped again. Standards have been dropped to suit including in recruitment.

@CityMayorLeic I would love to send an auditor in to analyse where money has been spent and how necessary it actually was. Converting roads to single lanes making completely underutilised cycle lanes would be an area of scrutiny. If money was tight then these projects could have waited.

@leicslive They need to build a second A&E before any new homes are built. One A&E for a county the size of ours is ridiculous- look at the population growth over the years. One door in, One queue & so one very long wait. No more homes - no more people until we have fixed the real issues.
