@uk_karen@RosieDuffield1 Oh please. You ain't a martyr to the cause you only picked up 2 years ago. The only difference you want to make is to your ego. I see Sky News saw through you and removed your interview.
@RosieDuffield1@uk_karen you do appreciate that Karen doesn't have a connection to adoption whatever she may say. She was never separated from her child. She isn't an adoptee. She is using this issue for self promotion. She has upset both communities hugely with her platforming on the back of our trauma
@uk_karen@SimonSt51662750@RosieDuffield1 If by "inclusive" you wanted your own inclusion despite the fact you have no connection to adoption, then I am glad you haven't been included. You have attempted to hijack this campaign yet you were still excluded. Says everything about your effectiveness as a campaigner
@SkyNews@GarethBarlow@SkyNews Karen Constantine is not a member of MAA and should not be representing herself as such. Do your research. Stop platforming these frauds. It's an insult to the memory of those who went before us.
@SkyNews@BarnabyPap@SkyNews why are you platforming such a fraud. This woman has no connection to historic forced adoption. She was never forced to separate from her
baby. She isn't a committee member of MAA and isn't the expert she makes herself out to be. This is a misrepresentation for clout
Do I have thoughts on the recent @churchofengland apology for historic forced adoption? Damn straight. Do I have any words left? sadly not. So I present my feelings via the medium of AI slop.
@Rgt71Robert@churchofengland@synod@ArchbishopSarah One of the things which has really upset many is where they are sending both communities for support. Adoption UK is not a safe org for adult adoptees. Even the government has said our support shouldn't come from adoption adjacent orgs yet they are splashed all over the apology
@Rgt71Robert@churchofengland@synod@ArchbishopSarah I think I am frustrated because I know that proper, trauma informed safeguarding can be done by the church. I experienced it with the Bishop of my diocese (Bath and Wells) The statement he issued was much better received within our community because he listened.
@Rgt71Robert@GuardintheFlock Their safeguarding was so shocking that we couldn't engage as adoptees. At the first meeting they had an adoption social worker and also someone who had just been approved as an adopter in attendance. These are not safe if you are an adoptee. There was no second meeting.
@Rgt71Robert@GuardintheFlock I don't know if you have seen the church's apology for historic forced adoption today. Here's a statement from one of the survivor groups which talks about their lack of safeguarding.
@AdoptionUK If you had advocated and learnt from adult adoptees I feel you wouldn't be in this position. There's new research out saying adoptees are 35 times more likely to attempt suicide yet you deny and resist hearing their voices. How's that working out for you?
On Saturday we were fortunate to have Lynn Zubov join us to share the findings of her recent research.
The results of the impact not just on our community but also our mother's is horrifying. This was a global research and included adoptees of all ages.

@appg_ap While I completely laud talking to adoptees, when are you going to talk to older adoptees. We have vast lived experience you are missing out on. Scared of what we will say?
We’ve been investigating the forced adoption scandal for the last year @itvnews Not only were unmarried women pressured to have their babies adopted, some were exposed to a dangerous drug. The Health Secretary says our findings are ‘extremely shocking’ & his dept will investigate
