@johninkingwood @ModernDayZorro A huge group stood up and walked out w him that Sunday. I was in 10th grade and remember it vividly.
That group started mtg together and eventually formed what is now Christ Fellowship Baptist. He continued to preach there until he left for Dallas in ‘15

@johninkingwood @ModernDayZorro I grew up at DWBC— Lawson came when I was in 3rd grade ‘95. 1st split happened in ‘97 w 120+ members leaving to start Dayspring Baptist. In ‘03 upset members sent out a letter essentially saying Lawson needed to go, so instead he left.
