Let’s be clear: the Department of Education exists because states wouldn’t fund poor schools, wouldn’t protect kids with disabilities, wouldn’t follow civil rights law, especially in the South. Anyone calling to abolish it is calling to turn back the clock—and we can’t let that happen.
It is legal to criticize the president. It is legal to criticize the president's actions. It is legal to criticize the president's advisors. It is legal and patriotic and the blood of a healthy society to hold those in power accountable, and even to mock them. Remember it.
At least a dozen times in the Bible, Jesus is described as being “moved by compassion” to help someone in need.
I just can't imagine a scenario where we get to heaven and Jesus says...
"You were way too empathetic and compassionate. Don’t you know empathy is toxic?”
It’s nice to see Patrick Mahomes losing so miserably after he and his wife went full MAGA. This is exactly the result that he deserves and I couldn’t love it more.
It's important to point out that this is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Jesus teaches in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10), the sermon in his hometown synagogue (Luke 4), and basically every other time he opened his mouth.
“God used immoral leaders throughout Scripture, so why can’t God use Trump too?”
I absolutely believe God is using Donald Trump—God is using him to expose how so much of white evangelicalism has completely abandoned the way of Jesus.
WHEN YOU EDIT THE LORD’S PRAYER to include “Trump” and “America,” you are showing who your Lord and Savior really is.
Oddly enough, they skipped the “deliver us from evil” portion.
would you prefer if Wicked ended like this?
i feel like it's more powerful if it ends with Elphaba's battle cry BUT the film version has its own power too so idk
Jimmy Carter didn’t sell Bibles with his name on them, claim to be God’s appointed leader, or promise to make Christianity great again.
He lived out his faith through love and service by pursuing peace, teaching Sunday school, and building 4,447 homes with Habitat for Humanity.
When people ask me what kind of Christian I am, I’m proud to respond, “The kind who tries to follow Jesus like Jimmy Carter did.”
