My post about starting an Open Source project as a beginner have been published on #freecodecamp Medium. Check it out if you've been curious about Open Source but didn't feel like you were ready to contribute! #CodeNewbie#100DaysOfCode

@CodeNewbies A1: Studying linguistics (still am). For me it was not a switch but an addition. I got interested because I took a psychology class that mentioned artificial neural networks. I was intrigued, and figured that i needed to learn to code, to keep up. #CodeNewbie
@AndyHaskell2013@NLPNewbie I don't have autocorrect on, because I don't trust myself to notice unwanted "corrections", so I only use the word-suggestion feature. If there was a UI that clearly showed where a word had been "corrected", I would be much more likely to use autocorrect #NLPNewbie
@NLPNewbie A2: I would like an addition "personalized" corpus that includes all the names of people I have in my contacts, which I don't understand why is not a thing yet. If I am messaging a person named Jon, I probably meant to say "Hi Jon", not "Hi John". #NLPNewbie
@NLPNewbie A1: I can't think of any great catches by my autocorrect, although I am sure there have been many. That's the thing, when technology works great, you barely notice how helpful it actually is. #NLPNewbie#Ungratefuluser
@NLPNewbie A1: I think the worst one will have to be when my mom's phone keeps insisting on autocorrecting her name Sus, to the Danish word "sure" (which means angry). #NLPNewbie
Hey the @MintLA, when is the show with @Nicolay tonight? Different information on your own webpage and from the ticket vendors? Can we get some clarification please :)
Hey #CodeNewbies, why don't you join us next week? We would love to have you! No prerequisites, your thoughts, ideas and questions are valuable regardless of your experience level :) #NLPNewbie
@NLPNewbie I found this presentation by @rctatman a while ago, which I think is a very good primer to why sociolinguistics is important to NLP, and it has some interesting references that I hope to check out soon. #NLPNewbie https://t.co/cyiaFZ0XYz
@NLPNewbie Yes, I have been thinking about this for a while! I do think that Grammarly is currently experiencing with at least detecting a formality level of your text. If it will later be possible to set the formality level your want your corrections to reflect, I do not know #NLPNewbie
