This is probably the biggest moment of my life 😭 After 4 years, the Game UI Bible has finally launched for all the world to see. A 400+ page tome of Game UI/UX goodness, celebrating all the weird and wonderful intricacies of this field.
From a thorough history of UI in games, to games that break all the rules, to Nintendo's forward-thinking approach to interfaces, and UI's influence on branding and meme culture.
Not only that, I got to interview the legendary designers who have worked on some of the most iconic games of all time, giving a deep dive on each one. Fortnite! Half-Life Alyx! The Batman Arkham Trilogy! LittleBigPlanet! Tunic! We have them all!
I am SO proud of this book, and for you all to read it!
Okay straight up.
Every concept artist portfolio I’ve ever reviewed.
I never once cared about seeing thumbnails.
If we’re all being honest we do them because others expect to see them, not because they’re useful to us.
