Sam Seder: The Republican Party that existed before 2016 is not fundamentally different than it is today
What was the Moral Majority? What was the Tea Party? What was Q Anon? What was MAGA?
Everything in Project 2025 was percolating in the largest GOP think tanks for years.
There isn't this clean break that former Republicans want to pretend that there is.
my Game Changer hot take is that this show rules and ofc the quality of each episode will vary by its very nature
this season has produced bangers and all-timers and also some lovely and perfectly enjoyable episodes
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
Btw, the actual numbers show that no, cutting off your parents isn't a "white people" thing
It *is* disproportionately a "queer people" thing, so when people talk about it being "white", let's all be aware of the subtext being pushed there
@julie_sweet35@WeSee2024@PollTracker2024 She didn’t endorse him and he’s being magnanimous about it. Show me literally anywhere where she says “I endorse James Talarico for Senate”. Not this half-assed “I support all our candidates” bs
@julie_sweet35@WeSee2024@PollTracker2024 My point about the list of endorsements was “she’s clearly capable of saying “I endorse x candidate”. It’s obvious she is going out of her way to not endorse Talorico.
@julie_sweet35@WeSee2024@PollTracker2024 Nothing about that conflicts with what I said. Tanja said “Rep. Crockett literally endorsed Talorico the NEXT FKING DAY”, and that’s a lie
@WeSee2024@PollTracker2024 She didn’t endorse him though. The tweet you quoted isn’t an endorsement. She put put a list of endorsements that specifically didn’t include him. You’re just lying.
we as a society certainly do, but it’s fascinating how gay men, in particular, have dodged this trend. adolescent isolation pushed so many millennial & Gen Z gay men to move to cities & establish found families. we’re more social than ever.
I know in my heart that we as a society have enough capacity for nuance and discernment to acknowledge that the Massachusetts lesbian bar stuff was amusingly nuts, and simultaneously recognize that random people wearing masks out and about are fine are should be left alone
Like, there ARE parallels between the AIDS epidemic and Covid - especially how our response was bad for those most impacted.
But also they are not one and the same and there are important differences too
@JasmineForUS “I endorse him” is something you’ve never said though. You’ve really lost a ton of good will from people who want to like you and support you - but this is all clearly just a vanity project for you.
christians will talk about strangers like this and then call themselves saints and be fully convinced they're the kindest and most loving people in the world. fucking pathetic
